My name is Lynda Mueller and I am the president of this wonderful ministry that God has provided for rostered LCMS church workers and their spouses at no cost to you (excluding airfare, food, and gas). I am married to Jeff Mueller, senior pastor of Waikoloa Lutheran Church here on the Big Island of Hawaii in Waikoloa Village and together, we are the founders of Eden Above the Sea.  

My husband and I have been married for 45 years and in ministry for over 30 years now. We have learned the importance of self-care from both neglect and restoration. Being a servant to God and His people can often times be taxing and while it is with great joy that we serve Him with our whole hearts, we still need to make sure we are also taking care of ourselves.  Jesus Himself said in Matthew 11:28; “Come to Me all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Rest is one of the most important and yet often neglected spiritual exercises for all of us. 

We hope and pray that when you visit Eden Above the Sea you will experience rest, relaxation, renewal, romance and even “ho’ I hou ke aloha” ( let us fall in love all over again). Eden Above the Sea is a special place that has been given to you, God’s faithful servants as a gift and we want you to enjoy it as such. Through others, God has provided this special cottage and a car- all for you to enjoy at no cost (first tank of fuel is on us!). Our prayer is that you will take Him up on this offer of receiving this gift and come and experience our “Eden Above the Sea”.
